2013 American Library Association (ALA) Youth Media Awards:

• The Randolph Caldecott award is presented to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children. This year’s winner is Jon Klassen’s This Is Not My Hat.
• The John Newbery award is presented to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children. This year’s winner is K.A. Applegate’s The One and Only Ivan.
• The Michael L. Printz Award is presented to the author of the book that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature. This year’s winner is Nick Lake’s In Darkness.
